Our pastors and leaders are committed to Te Wao Tōtara – Code of Ethics and Conduct of the Baptist Union of New Zealand.
From the Baptist Union of New Zealand website:
Christian ethics are fundamentally shaped by Biblical principles and values. They play a crucial role in guiding our understanding of how to relate to God, ourselves, one another, and the broader world.
The application of these ethical principles—our ethical conduct—is vital. Our actions significantly influence how we are perceived as leaders, as a church or ministry, and as part of the wider Baptist Union of New Zealand. As followers of Christ, we aspire to be recognised for our integrity, accountability, and the love we show one another. We are committed to upholding the safety and equality of all individuals.
In light of this commitment, we, as leaders of the Baptist Union of New Zealand, adhere to a code of ethics and conduct that directs our actions. These standards are articulated in Te Wao Tōtara: Code of Ethics and Conduct, which serves as a guiding framework for our ministry and leadership. By embracing these principles, we aim to reflect Christ’s teachings and foster a community rooted in ethical behaviour and mutual respect.
